Morning Fastbreakers

First Watch

This morning, December 20th, our group ventured south to 81st and Lewis and visited “The First Watch” restaurant at 8178 S Lewis, Suite A.

First Watch, headquartered in Bradenton Florida, operates over 100 restaurants in thirteen states. The hours of operation are from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM daily. The south Tulsa location is spacious and can accommodate family/friends diners with a windowed backroom for small to medium size group meetings. The restaurant interior is light and airy with pastel decorations, table and booth seating, and professional finishes throughout.

The staff at First Watch are attentive to ones needs from entering the restaurant, while dining, and also when leaving. We rated the staff with an A.

Our meals this morning represented a cross section of an extensive menu offering some thirty-six entrees plus various sides. Omelets, Fruit Crepes and other healthier offerings were joined by Skillet Hashes, Griddle dishes and First Watch “Eggs-clusives” including 3 versions of Eggs Benedict crepes and scrambles.

The first Fast Breaker chose “The Tri-Fecta” with two scrambled eggs and a large Blueberry pancake. It was served with both maple and blueberry syrups and thick sliced bacon. This entry was rated “B” because the scrambled eggs were on the dry side.

Our next Fast Breaker ordered “Eggs Benedict” served on an English muffin, with tomato and ham accompaniments. The perfectly poached eggs were covered with hollandaise sauce. This entry also included fresh seasoned potatoes and a fruit cup and was also rated “B” because of the large quantity of ham that seemed to over-power the meal.

Our last participant ordered “The Gravy Train” omelet filled with bacon, sausage, grilled onions, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. The omelet arrived covered with Turkey sausage gravy and fresh seasoned potatoes. The entry was prepared and cooked to perfection. It was rated “B+.”

When you visit First Watch, come with an appetite because the servings are generous, service is fast and attentive. We gave the First Watch and overall rating of “B+.”
