Morning Fastbreakers

                                                 Freeway Cafe

This morning we checked out the breakfast at Freeway Café, 465 South
Sheridan, 918.836.8150. It was a gastronomer’s delight. The store theme is the 1950s with a life size statue of Elvis playing the guitar and a knick-knack shelf of small 1950s cars.

The first breaker had two sausage patties, two eggs over easy with two golden pancakes and toast.  He also ordered hash browns, but unfortunately, he forgot to say the magic word, "crisp."

The second breaker had the Freeway special, Donnie’s Freeway Café Omelet. It consists of ham, tomato, bacon, sausage, beef, bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, and cheese. On the side, it had a small bowl of salsa and an order of biscuits and gravy.

The third breaker had the Ham Steak and Eggs. It was a thick slab of country-style ham, blazed on the griddle with two eggs and hash browns. I told the waitress to make the hash browns crisp. Most restaurants will brown the potatoes a little longer if you tell them crisp.

We gave Freeway Café an “A.” There are plans to open another Freeway Café near 3rd and Utica.
