Morning Fastbreakers

Shiloh Restaurant

On the morning of April 6, 1862 Union forces under the command of General Ulysses Grant were surprised while preparing breakfast on the banks of the Tennessee River. Dropping their hardtack and coffee the Yankees scrambled for their rifles. The surprise Confederate attack opened the Battle of Shiloh. Thankfully the Tulsa Breakfast Club's trip to Shiloh restaurant (not the battle) was a much more peaceful and pleasant breakfast.

Shiloh is located at 2604 North Aspen Avenue in Broken Arrow just south of the Broken Arrow Expressway on 145th East Avenue. Several TBC friends raved about this place. It proved to be a good trip.

Each of our trio was pleased with their order. The most glowing review came from the clubber who dined on the Cinnamon Roll Pancake. With its frosting drizzle there is no need for syrup. The Eggs Benedict also earned high marks. A unique feature of the Eggs Benedict is that the order is served on a biscuit and not an English muffin. Our third member who boasts seven grandchildren thought it was only right for him to order the Grandpa's Special. It comes with two pancakes, two eggs, and he ordered sausage. The pancakes were fluffy and sweet. The sausage was a bit too mild.

The interior of Shiloh's is very clean and in one corner rests a hutch loaded with family photos and knickknacks. It provides a comfortable "at home" feel.
The Tulsa Breakfast Club gives Shiloh's a B+. It is well worth a visit and the TBC would welcome a return to give other items on the menu a try.
