Morning Fastbreakers

                                                  Toast
It is ironic that the founder of The Tulsa Breakfast Club has the hardest time finding restaurants when we leave the city limits of Tulsa. Even in this age of smartphone and dashboard GPS, arriving on time smack dab in the middle of downtown Broken Arrow, in the budding Rose District, proved challenging.

For the two members who arrived at Toast on time it meant the better part of an hour convincing the friendly waitress that we did expect a third person to show up.

This traveling turmoil tale is recounted to point out the wait was well worth it. Toast offers a varied menu that includes some good old breakfast traditional plates to other out-of-the box offerings.

We sampled three different dishes. The Franklin’s Benny is a from scratch biscuit topped with Canadian bacon, poached eggs, and a mild but delicious hollandaise sauce.

Another hungry club member took on the Pastrami Hash which includes onions, peppers, mushrooms, chili sauce, and poached eggs.

A Ham and Cheese Omelete with a side of pancakes was our third order. The eggs were moist but not runny and filled with melted cheese and ham chunks. The pancakes were fluffy and substantial.

Simply put the reaction from each of our trio was that the breakfasts were excellent and the coffee cups kept filled.

First be glad our roaming Breakfast Clubber was not on the Lewis and Clark expedition, or we would all still be living on the East coast.

Secondly Toast at 201 South Main in Broken Arrow is easy for most to find. So take a drive and enjoy an “A” rated breakfast.
