Morning Fastbreakers

                                              Brookside Cook House

Reasor’s has opened a brand new store and in it is Brookside Cook House. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you have eaten at some of the other food stores and were disappointed, then maybe you should shop at Reasor’s in Brookside. The Cook House is modest in price, tasty, and convenient. The breakfast menu consist of about five different choices and all about $5. It is extremely clean and interesting. The flatware appears shinny and heavy.

We were without one of our critics this morning, but we persevered. The first breaker had the Breakfast Burrito which was packed with scrambled eggs, veggies, bacon, and sausage. They were out of salsa. Now how do you run out of salsa in a grocery store? Fortunately they had other condiments at the table.

The second breaker had two scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns with a biscuit and optional white gravy. The coffee is very good and very hot. The biscuit was fluffy and light.

The Cook House is a fun place for a quick breakfast and then grocery shopping. It helps with the old adage “Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach.” You tend to buy more than what you intended. As you walk in the store there is a tall glass box with round pebbles at the bottom.  On the other side it becomes a fireplace. Pretty cool.

We gave the Cook House an “A-“ because of the salsa situation.
