Morning Fastbreakers

Full Circle Café

Today the Fast Breakers had breakfast at the Full Circle Café, located in London Square on Lewis Ave. between 51st and 61st. You need to know the history of the café for the name to make sense. The original owner opened the café about seven years ago, sold it and opened a different restaurant, sold that and came back to the present café. So…he has been full circle, thus the name Full Circle Café.

It is a very nice establishment, with carpeting, indirect lighting, and solid flatware. It is also very quiet. It is a step above the usual breakfast places we review, yet very comfortable. They serve Henderson Coffee, which is pretty good.

One breaker had the Florraine omelette an egg omelette with bacon, peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. It is served with home fries and a short stack. Everything was good except the home fries.

The second breaker had the Eggs Benedict. Two poached eggs and house made Canadian bacon on an English muffin with hollandaise sauce and hash browns. It was delicious and the sauce was mild. The hash browns are hard to explain. They went from extra crisp to saggy.

It is a very nice place, but they need to work on their potatoes. They were very bland, almost tasteless. We suggest they develop their potatoes a bit by adding a spice or two to make them more flavorful.

We gave the Full Circle Café a B+, but we will be back.
