Morning Fastbreakers

Silver Skillet Restaurant

The breakers visited the Silver Skillet for breakfast. It is located at 8228 East 61st Street, 918.940.3888. It is east of Hooters Restaurant on 61st street. They have a humongous sign, but if you are in the wrong area of the shopping center you may not see it.

It is very clean and comfy with a substantial breakfast menu. The coffee is great and the setting is very open and free. It is large and roomy inside. Sometimes restaurants try to cramp as many people into one room as they can, but this was spacious.

The first clubber ordered the Supreme Skillet with crisp golden hash browns, diced ham, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, and shredded cheddar cheese. The clubber saw that it was a very large order so he requested a half order and they obliged. Unfortunately when they brought it out it was on a plate and not a serving skillet. Other places have senior citizen size skillets. Never the less, it was still good.

The second clubber picked the Breakfast Combo which included fried eggs, home fries, two scrumptious looking grilled pork chops, and two fluffy fresh baked biscuits. Everything on the plate was hot and the home fries were crispy and spicy.

The third clubber decided to try The Everything omelet. It was three large eggs, diced sausage, ham, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, with shredded cheddar cheese on top. The omelet was served with a generous portion of home fries along with a fluffy biscuit and gravy.

In grading a restaurant we consider taste, presentation, setting appearance, atmosphere, and service. The Silver Skillet could improve their setting appearance by using heavier flatware. The utensils were so thin, I was surprised we didn‘t cut our fingers.

It was still all very good so we gave it an “A-.”
