Morning Fastbreakers

                                                      Old Town Café
We were called out of town and decided to check out the local morning restaurant. Our destination was downtown Sand Springs. The establishment we visited was the “Old Town Cafe.” A quaint little café with walls covered with pictures and posters of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis. They seem to collect just about everything.

The first breaker had an “Everything Omelet.” It is a three egg omelet chock-full of everything, ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, green peppers. It comes with hash-browns and your choice of toast and a side order of grits.

The second breaker had a “Western Omelet.” This was a little different. It just had ham, onions, green peppers, and cheese. It also had hash-browns and toast. There was a complaint that the onions and the omelet were a little under cooked. Of course this should have been brought to the server’s attention immediately.

The third fast breaker ordered two eggs medium, and a country ham steak with crisp hash-brown potatoes and white toast. The eggs and the hash-browns were out of this world delicious. The humongous ham steak, which covered a separate platter, was tender and juicy.

Our separate grades for this café were rather varied, but averaged out to a “B.”
